Hey... I'm still here.

Hey everyone! If you thought I disappeared off the face of this earth, well I didn't but I wouldn't blame you if you thought I did. How I feel is almost as equivalent as a terrible parent leaving their child alone for so long and ignoring them. That's how I have been feeling about this blog and everyone who follows what I do. Like I haven't given you any attention at all. Not cool Brian!

I'm sure there might even be at least one person who wondered, "why hasn't he kept up with his 365 Photo challenge?"

Ah yes! Well let me try to explain. I'm going to be a little raw with you guys.

Alright so let's get real for a second.

Starting a business is a lot more time consuming than I expected it to be. I really wish I would have spent more time in Germany learning how to run a proper business in America. Like more than the actual delivery of services (photography, editing, delivering product), keeping records of all the numbers, learning how to best use the different marketing platforms, and occasionally dabbling in the taxes portion of the business. I could have taken some classes to better prepare me before coming here. There's so much I didn't know and there's still so much I don't know. But now that I've already started investing and pouring some of my resources and finances into it, I can't turn back now. I have a couple more things that I think need to be invested in and then I'll be getting the snowball rolling.

So I thought having the 365 Photo challenge would make for a great challenge for myself but honestly I was only doing it in hopes to get attention and increase traffic to my website. Well in theory I probably could have done just that but again it's a marketing technique that I don't even fully understand or know how to utilize best. I would like to continue this challenge at some point but perhaps next time I'll start with something smaller first and then work up to something quite as challenging as this.

So I decided that I really needed to spend more of my time on trying to learn more of the ins and outs of starting a business in America. This way I'll have a better understanding of how I can best serve those in need of my services.

Well if you made it this far in the post then you are awesome and I'd love to give you a high five and a hug right through this computer screen.

I'll be trying to make a more conscious effort to be more present from now on. I hope you guys can forgive me for my absence. Thanks again if you made it this far. I haven't given up on you. I'm working hard to try and be better at this building a business thing and want to continue to build relationships through this platform with you.

Have a great rest of your week and I'll share what else I've been up to in the last month!
